Also known as “imperial russian stout”,“russian imperial stout”. Imperial stout is a higher abv (8-12%) stout style that originated in 18th Century England for export to the Russian imperial court. Imperial stout is malty (often with burnt flavors) with relatively low carbonation and little (or no) hops.
