brown sugar syrup

0% ABV

Brown sugar syrup is the same as simple syrup, but made with demerara sugar or brown sugar, which imparts a subtle molasses flavor to the syrup. See also sugar. To make: combine equal parts water and brown sugar in a sauce pan on the stove. Heat, stirring, until all the sugar dissolves. (Do not boil.) Cool and bottle. Adding an ounce or so of neutral grain spirits when bottling will help preserve the syrup.
