White curaçao is generic for un-colored (distilled) curaçao, but note that the “white curaçao” found in recipes circa 1900-1940 are most likely references to triple sec. The distinction is somewhat hazy, although white curaçao will often be lower proof with a milder orange flavor than triple sec.
