Legally delimited scotch producing subregion of the Higlands encompassing a slew of islands scattered around the west and north coasts of Scotland and a sparse array of distinctive distilleries. The islands with distilleries are Arran, Jura, Mull, Skye, Lewis, and the Orkneys. Ultimately, scotch from the Islands region is just that, and really connotes no particular style or qualities.
