Also known as “Appleton Special White”. Formerly known as Appleton Special White. Proprietary clear (carbon filtered) rum from Jamaica. Proof varies in different markets, going as low as 37.5º and as high as 42º or 43º. Light jamaican rum is generic for the aged rums of Jamaica that have been filtered of their color (and some flavor). These rums tend to be relatively young are intended for mixing.
