pickled hazelnut

0% ABV

Also known as “cocktail hazelnut”. Pickled hazelnuts were apparently a garnish that enjoyed some popularity in pre-Prohibition American bars, at least in New York City. Doug Stailey’s research (http://libationlegacy.com/2015/09/07/hazelnuts-in-maraschino-the-vanished-garnish/) indicates most were probably raw (unroasted) hazelnuts steeped in maraschino liqueur for about four weeks—soemthing easily accomlished at home.
