blended grain scotch

40% ABVScotland

Also known as “single grain scotch”. Single grain scotch is a whisky distilled at a single Scottish distillery from malted barley and other malted or unmalted cereals. Generally, this single grain whisky is produced under continuous distillation and is (generally) a purer, “smoother” spirit akin to a vodka. Single grain scotch is the relatively neutral component that is combined with single malt scotch to produce a blended scotch. In recent years, a few whisky brands have released bottlings of pure single grain scotch whisky, or of blended grain scotch whisky. Blended grain scotch whisky is a vatting of single grain scotches from different distilleries.
