Pricota

24% ABVEngland

Defunct but highly-respected proprietary brand of English apricot-flavored brandy liqueur. Produced by Humphrey Taylor & Co. of London in the late 18th and 19th centuries. Apricot liqueur is generic for any brandy- or neutral spirit-based liqueur with natural and/or artificial apricot flavoring and an amber color. One of the earliest fruit liqueurs produced. Do not confuse apricot liqueurs, particularly “apricot brandy” with apricot eau de vie, which is a true fruit brandy and an utterly dry distillation of fermented apricots. The de facto benchmark of apricot liqueurs is Marie Brizard Apry.
