pomegranate syrup
Also known as “pomegranate molasses”. Pomegranate syrup is a thick syrup made from pomegranate juice and sugar. The sweetness and tartness of pomegranate syrup varies, with the sweetest, mildest examples approaching grenadine. The thickest pomegranate syrups are sometimes labeled “pomegranate molasses”. Pomegranate molasses contains a concentrated pomegranate flavor without being excessively sweet. This honey-like syrup tends to be too thick to dissolve into cold drinks without diluting it beforehand, but that characteristic also makes it useful for coating and rimming glassware.
