Also known as “Creme d'Yvette”. Proprietary liqueur with natural and/or artificial violet flower flavoring & possibly vanilla & other spices. Manufactured by Charles Jacquin et Cie in the United States, who purchased the brand formerly made by Sheffield Company of Connecticut. This product was defunct from 1969 through 2009, when production resumed, although the new formula may not quite match the old. Violet petal flavored liqueur is a generic category for sweetened and flavored spirits (usually neutral spirits) of various dilutions flavored with violet petals.
