Rowan berry liqueur is generic for a (usually) simple liqueur flavored with an infusion of rowan berries, the small fruits of the “mountain ash”, a variety of shrubs native to the Himalayas. Regional specialty in Slavic and Scandinavian Europe. (The Poles also make a rowan-flavored vodka, which is less sweet.)
