Old Forester Single Barrel is literally a 90 proof factory bottling of an entire single barrel of bourbon wholesaled to a retailer. Thus, Old Forester labeled as such is a moving target, exhibiting the character of that particular barrel sold to that particular retailer. Bourbon whiskey is a generic category for U.S. single-malt whiskey distilled from predominately corn mash with wheat or rye grains. Popular in all manner of mixed drinks 19th century-present.
